Colombian singer Shakira was spotted leaving a Miami airport with her two sons on August 2nd amidst reports of her alleged involvement in tax fraud. The accusations against her suggest that she falsely claimed to reside abroad between 2012 to 2014 when she was actually living in Spain with her former partner Gerard Pique and their two children. Although Shakira has already paid back the $15.5 million in Spanish taxes that she is accused of evading, as well as over $3 million in interest, it is rumored that she could face up to eight years in prison. To avoid this, Shakira is contemplating making a permanent move to Miami. She was recently seen at an LA Dodgers game with her kids, after which a spokesperson for Shakira emphasized that she has always abided by the law and followed the advice of a reputable tax firm. It is also speculated that Shakira’s recent split from Pique, who allegedly cheated on her, may have played a role in her current legal troubles.
